Jasmund – World Heritage area

A representative landscape section in the heart of the National Park has been designated as Natural World Heritage. It stretches from the drift line of the Baltic Sea across the cliffs and to the plateau area. The area, which is partially undisturbed by human activity, is 493 hectares in size. It is surrounded by a 2511-ha buffer zone.
