Hainich – World Heritage area

The Hainich component part incorporates the central areas of the National Park with their particularly unspoilt near-natural beech forests. Its extent and location reflect the broad locality spectrum of forest ecosystems. The size of the area is 1,573 ha in addition to a 4,085-ha buffer zone.
