Strîmbu Băiuț

Here in the Eastern Romanian Carpathians, unique primeval forests with pristine dynamics and biodiversity have been preserved. The tree layer of the ancient beech forests is complemented by fir, spruce, wych elm, European ash, and sycamore. Special habitats are lush forests of slopes, screes and ravines and scree slopes. The forests link the component parts of the Southern Carpathians with those of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
