Hajdučki i Rožanski Kukovi
The property is located in between inaccessible mountain massifs with a unique karst relief of cirques, grooves, rock basins, and sinkholes, and a huge underground cave system. This was a refuge area of the beech during the last ice age. The almost untouched wilderness impresses with a fascinating mosaic of forests, mountain pines, and rocks. Due to snow pressure, crooked tree shapes are typical phenomena of mountain beech forests. They are characterised by numerous alpine plants, including endemic species.
